This Data Protection Notice explains how Rixom handles information when you use our iOS app. Rixom is a local-first lipstick collection manager designed to help you organize your items, track usage, compare shades, view collection statistics, and receive expiration reminders.
We collect and process only the information needed to provide app features, maintain account state such as coins and unlocks, support local notifications, and improve app reliability. Wherever possible, your data is stored on your device. If certain features require server-side processing, we handle that data strictly for the requested feature and according to this policy.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These protections include access controls, limited internal access on a need-to-know basis, encryption where appropriate, secure storage practices, and operating procedures designed to reduce risk.
Photos and other user-created content are stored locally on your device unless a feature explicitly requires temporary processing. Account-related state is stored in protected device storage such as Keychain. We also use platform security features provided by Apple and StoreKit for in-app purchase handling.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or limit certain information associated with your use of Rixom. You may also withdraw consent for optional processing where consent is the legal basis for that activity.
You can review, edit, and delete lipstick entries, usage logs, compare groups, and other content directly within the app. You may also remove photos and notes you have added. If you want to request help with data access, deletion, or export, or if you have questions about your rights, please contact us using the contact information listed at the end of this notice.
We use information only to operate and improve the app’s features, such as managing your collection, calculating expiration dates, recording usage, showing statistics, supporting coin balances and unlocks, and delivering notifications you enable.
We do NOT use your information for AI training. We do NOT use your information for advertising. We do NOT use your information for profiling, and we do NOT sell your information. We also do NOT use uploaded photos or user-generated content for any unrelated purpose.
Rixom is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 17, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
If any AI-assisted processing is used for app functionality, it is performed exclusively on our own internal servers. We do NOT use third-party AI services to process user data.
Any temporary data used for processing is handled only for the duration necessary to complete the requested task and is deleted after processing is complete. We do NOT use processed data for model training, model optimization, or future AI improvement based on user content.
We keep information only for as long as needed to provide the app and meet legal, accounting, or operational requirements.
You can remove locally stored content at any time through the app. Deleting the app may remove locally stored data, although some purchase-related records may remain in protected device storage to support restored access where applicable.
We may update this notice from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice in the app or through another appropriate channel.
Your continued use of Rixom after an updated notice becomes effective means you acknowledge the revised policy.
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade user data. We do NOT share any user-uploaded or user-generated content with any third party. We do NOT use any third-party AI services to process user data. All AI processing is performed exclusively on our own internal servers.
We may use a limited number of third-party service providers only for infrastructure operations, such as hosting, storage, delivery, or basic system support. These providers act solely on our behalf and only under our instructions. They are bound by contractual obligations to protect data security and are not permitted to use user data for any purpose beyond what we instruct.
Third parties are not allowed to use your data for advertising, user profiling, AI training, model optimization, their own business purposes, redistribution, or independent access to your content.
Depending on where our infrastructure providers operate, certain information may be processed or stored in different regions or countries. When this occurs, we use appropriate safeguards and require our service providers to protect the information consistent with applicable law and this notice.
By using Rixom, you understand that information necessary to deliver app features may be transferred or accessed across borders as part of normal technical operations.
Rixom does not use facial recognition, biometric identification, face templates, or biometric analysis. We do not collect face data for identification or authentication purposes.
If a user chooses to upload a photo that contains a face incidentally, it is not used to create a biometric profile, and any temporary processing data is deleted after processing is complete.
Information you provide: lipstick names, brands, shade codes, photos, purchase details, dates, prices, tags, notes, usage logs, ratings, compare groups, and any support messages you send us.
Information collected automatically: device and app diagnostics, crash logs, performance data, approximate usage metrics, and technical information needed to operate the app, deliver notifications, and support in-app purchases.
Cookies and similar technologies: Rixom is primarily a native iOS app and does not rely on browser cookies in the same way a website does. However, platform or service components may use local identifiers or similar technologies necessary for app functionality, authentication, analytics, or purchase handling where permitted by Apple and your device settings.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Rixom, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Data Protection Notice and agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
If you do not agree with this notice, you should stop using the app and remove it from your device. Continued use of the app means you accept the current version of this policy.
